Kepingin

Just finished preparing a lecture for tomorrow, many more for next week are in tow but now, at this particular moment of a Thursday afternoon, my brain and heart are yearning for only one thing... to be underwater. Since there's no way I can go for any diving trip, definitely not in the next 1-2 months, so terpaksa la menatap photos and videos only. This video was by Adzri aka Adik at Sugar Wreck, Perhentian Island taken some time ago - a site that I have yet to dive at. Love the colour precision!

There are a number of different things happening concurrently now and I have a feeling that I will be busy until June at least, once the simple reception gets out of the way. Stressful and tiring yes, but at least I am happy and enjoying the things I am doing now... People here are genuinely nice and most importantly, all working together in a team supporting each other. So yes, the grass is greener on this side and nope, no politics or back-stabbing so far(touchwood!)

The twists and turns of life are pretty amazing and unpredictable sometimes... When I was helping out IRM with their Gaza appeal, never did it cross my mind that I would one day meet a Gazan myself to hear about their plights, first-hand. But that has indeed happened.

Currently and probably for the next 2-3 years, I am and will be working closely with a gentleman from Gaza whom perseverance and determination I now admire. I had my reservations when I first heard that I have to work with a middle-eastern guy for my research (blame it on the (false) generalisation that middle-eastern guys are lazy, not me). This man who previously studied and worked at the University of Gaza, came to this country a few months ago to pursue his PhD, as well as to continue lecturing to pay for his studies and expenses. He had to leave his wife and kids in Gaza still so am sure you can imagine his worry whenever there are news of new attacks. He did share his war experiences and how much he has lost but yeah.... life goes on for him and his people. His outlooks on life and determination to strive is truly amazing and sent me into shame. Err... What was my excuse again?

Can't believe it's already October! A few points to jot down to be kept here as my life journal (since nobody is reading it anymore...
