Dare to dream

Mood: rindu laut

I dreamt (yes, it's dream with a 't' instead of 'ed' you American dictionary!) of Hillsborough last night. It was weird because one minute I was in KL and the next, I found myself in the middle of Hillsborough town, alone and confused. It was snowing, the town was exactly as how I remember it from before but I was lost. I didn't know why I was there and I have nothing with me (but I was wearing winter clothing though) so I walked my way to Shepperson Road to see whether I still live there. Anyway, I didn't made it to the old house. I bumped into some familiar faces (old friends and neighbours) and they were excited to see me again after almost a decade that they took me back to Hillsbrough town for some warm food and more clothes. Weird eh?

I am not sure what the dream signify (or whether it even means anything) but I know in my heart that one day, I should visit London and Sheffield again, to backtrack the final steps I hastily took that winter 9 years ago and replace them with new, happier memories. Truth to be told, I miss the friendly neighbourhood, the first sights of daffodils in spring, the lake where I used to feed ducks and even the tram rides (but not the smell of trigger-happy Sheffield Wednesday supporters cramped in those trams on match days). I did originally plan of making my way back with my other-half this year especially since one of my closest friends is now back there for her MSc in Cambridge but the plan has now been scrapped off. We have a more important, long overdued trip to make first this year. So, UK just have to wait.

Anyway, talking about dreams.. I am happy that I now have a soulmate to share my interests and travel plans. Eventhough we're both being bogged down with work and responsibilities now, I am very optimistic and looking forward to future adventures together, be it the colourful Venice, the scenic Nepal or the breathtaking underwater of Komodo. Yes, I can't get enough of Komodo.

There have been a number of good news of pregnancies and newborns among good friends these couple of months. Congratulations to Azarul & Marieska and Chott & Nonie for the arrivals of their respective newly born sons and good luck to 3 more girlfriends who are now expecting their first-born. I for one is yet to experience the joy of seeing those 2 blue lines but I am not that bothered yet. Friends and families are of course continuously asking, sometimes to the point of annoyance but honestly, I have alot on my plate now with not much time to even seriously think about it. Just let it be ok?

10.45pm: King Kenny just won his first game with The Reds as the manager with 3 goals vs nil (who cares if it's only Wolves?). Dare to dream LFC as one of the English giants again?

Pregnancy?
Easy as ABC for some, yet harder than a nuclear physics question for others.

Those who understands will do just that. Those who do not will keep the pressure up.

It took us 5 years to get our 2nd child and it took 2 years to get our first. You're still on track Ryzah!

On LFC...there's always ups and downs for sure. They'll be on top again...but surely not in 2011. Hehe!

Don't tell me you didn't get turn on by the smell of trigger-happy Sheffield Wednesday supporters cramped in those trams on match day? They were a delightful bunch! ;)

Btw, use google earth to view those streets and the house that you stayed in before. I did that for Melbourne, and boy, I tell you, Charnwood Road still looks the same, the house is still old and shabby, and the friendly neighbourhood Tattersall is still there at that corner (where I used to purchased my porns). Good 'ol days!

Ryzah,

First and foremost, love the pink look! Two thumbs for that. I'm a sucker for pink now.. I don't know why. Hehehehe..

And I miss Newcastle as well, so I can imagine your thoughts on Sheffield. It's just not the same isnt it. The weather, the people, the smell of fried onions and hot dogs by the road-stand (which is actually very nice), the public transportation, and the list goes on and on. Well, I hope you get to visit Sheffield soon, with your other half and enjoy it with him.

As for pregnancies and all, enjoy spending time with your other half dulu lah. Kalau ada rezeki, when it comes, it will come. Betul tak? Questions from the general public especially parents, standard lah tu. I know my mom last time asked me to go to the doctor to check. Oh well, you can't please everyone. Just take care and cherish the moment of being with him alone dulu lah. When you start having kids, chaos will kick in. And a lot of it too.

Take care, Ryzah. Again.. love the pink! :)

Ija: Alamak, by the time I saw yr comment, the pink template has already been changed to this current one. It lasted less than a day because pink is just not me! hehehe..

Ryzah, that's somewhere in Ramadhan this year...early Ramadhan. My first child was also born in Ramadhan. :)

Nice new template really btw. :)

I share your sentiment re: makcik bedah who just can't mind their own business. I am a believer of being honest and frank, to some extent on the borderline rude. Unless they're actually doing something constructive apart from dishing out a whole bucket of unproven, untested advice / tips on getting pregnant, they are in position to discuss about personal life of others. I think Malaysians generally do not respect the right to a private life. Until they learn this basic concept, I think I have all the rights in the world to tell them off anytime, anywhere I please simply for shamelessly asking distasteful, not to forget intrusive type of questions. I believe once bitten, they'd think twice before doing it again.

End of an era (and the beginning of a new one)

So, I turned 48 a few days ago. Instead of having the day off to celebrate, it was a busy day instead starting with a virtual viva session f...
