Happy Merdeka day Malaysia!

It's Merdeka eve and the office is almost empty. Everybody else have left hurrily in cheerful and patriotic mood, many with special plans for the night or plane/coach to catch to be somewhere out of KL celebrating the long-weekend with their loved ones.

I on the otherhand, is still lumped in my chair with a messy desk in front of me. Not that I'm unpatriotic or anti-social (ok, maybe a little bit of the latter!)..but am just too tired physically and mentally at this moment of time to be arsed about any celebration. Ok, maybe my mood will change after hearing the sounds of fireworks all around KL at the strike of midnight tonight..or maybe not. By the way peeps, Merdeka is not just about parades and fireworks you know.. It's about being thankful for the independence that we're enjoying today and about working hard to improve ourselves for the betterment of the country and our people. Am I not right?

Ok ok..I'm sounding like a cheapskate politician already so I better cut the crap now. The actual fact is I am soooo NOT looking forward to this weekend because I still have 20k words to be squeezed out of my brain and to be processed into structured sentences that make sense on white papers. So, instead of going to parades and concerts like the majority of my countrymen (and the foreign workers too) I will be stuck in this office again tomorrow onwards...so no, maybe celebratory mood is just not for me this weekend. Not until 30th September 2007 definitely!

Happy 50th Merdeka day everyone. Take care and may god bless you!

Somethin' to cheer up your gloomy monday

A funny forward from Mr D :)

A girl asks her boyfriend to come over Friday night to meet, and have dinner with her parents. Since this is such a big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and make love for the first time.

The boy is ecstatic, but he has never had sex before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some condoms. He tells the pharmacist it's his first time and the pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour. He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and sex.

At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many condoms he'd like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack, or family pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all. That night, the boy shows up at the girl's parents house and meets his girlfriend at the door. "Oh, I'm so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!" where the girl's parents are seated. The boy quickly offers to say grace and bows his head. A minute passes, and the boy is still deep in prayer, with his head down.

10 minutes pass, and still no movement from the boy. Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the girlfriend leans over and whispers to the boyfriend, "I had no idea you were this religious." The boy turns, and whispers back, "I had no idea
your father is a pharmacist."

Moral of the story is:
Pharmacists know LOTS about sex and condoms! teehehee..

3-serangkai MMMP

I was high on adrenaline last week.. Work was hectic as usual particularly with the new job I'm doing and my out-of-office hours were mostly filled with the last-minute preparations (when will I ever learn NOT to do things last-minutely?) for the 3-serangkai STAR-SDAR-STF 50th anniversary dinner. My tasks? To prepare a decent exhibition booth at ZERO cost, merchandise sales as well as helping out in preparing dinner gifts for 1800 attendees. Lots of frantic calls, emails and smses and not to mention the rushing from one place to another too! Putting all the hardwork and stress aside, I had fun (in a weird, tiring way!) even when a couple of friends and I got stuck at our alumni's office at 1am in the morning and had to call for a special rescuer to come and break the door! :)

Now, let's the photos do the rest of the story-telling..

The entertainer
(photo by yazit&zahir) I took a photo with him when he came around to our table but both looked 'stunned' in the photo so am not gonna put that one up here!

The organising committee

The last-minute product (not bad afterall eh?)

The sisters

The assistants @ my saviours!

Emmmm...what were they doing at MY booth? :)

More photos will be here soon.
A funny account of the preparation by Kak Sue Nafri can be found here.

Piece of sh*t - that's what you are

For years, I tolerated his antics.

He broke my heart again and again, he cheated, he lied, he gave empty promises..

I cried, I forgave and yes, I ticked him off at times but most of the time, I tolerated..God, I tolerated.

Never once I called him names..Not in front of him anyway :)

Well, not until last night.

His latest antic was nothing compared to all the things that he has done before but yes, I finally snapped. I told him exactly what I think of him and the words weren't pleasant at all. He said I've changed. He said I was a nice person before but now, after all those nasty words, he said he has lost all the respects for me now.. but do I care?? Bloody hell no! He deserved every single word that I uttered out last night... definitely. My only regret was for not saying those words out years ago.

I can rightly say, as a person, I have not changed much.. but yes, I've wisen up. I will not let piece of crap like him take advantage of 'the nice ryzah' again and again anymore... so, if he wants to label me 'nasty' just because I finally spoke my mind...be it. Read my lips mister... 'I DON'T CARE!'.

Finally, for the first time in 5 years, I feel liberated... I feel ultimately FREE..

End of an era (and the beginning of a new one)

So, I turned 48 a few days ago. Instead of having the day off to celebrate, it was a busy day instead starting with a virtual viva session f...
