vroommmm...and I'm gonna miss it!

The grand prix is back in KL again but this time round I won't be able to go and watch it live. Can't afford to splash out on the tickets and up till this moment, no genuine offers of free tickets too!

Many people I know actually prefer to watch it in the comfort of their homes but to me, nothing beats the real thing. I just love the atmosphere at the circuit with all the excitements and noises, even under the blazing sun.

You'll probably be half-soaked with sweat by the time you get to the circuit either from walking from your miles-away parked car or from being all packed up in the buses or trains just to get there, but you probably get to pick up alot of new friends in the process who'll be very chatty to share their same experiences with you. You probably will also miss half of the race actions since you won't be able to get the full view unless you're sitting at the paddock area but there will always be people in the crowd who'll be more than happy to share the updates they get from their mobile tele/radio with you. You'll probably be 10 times tanner or totally burned by the time you get home, but hey... you can atleast brag for the next couple of weeks that you WERE at the grand prix!

So.. nothing beats the real experience. Unfortunately, come sunday, I'll only be watching it from the tele (a big screen atleast I hope) sipping teh-o-ais limau...
Isk..

The power of strangers

Today, I managed to overcome my greatest fear and at the same time achieved one of my life dreams with the help of a complete stranger… a person whose name I don’t even know. It is really weird how somebody out of the blue can make such a big impact in your life without even realising it. It is such a wonderful feeling when you finally achieved what you’ve been longing for, at a time when you least expected it, with minimal effort and especially with just a little help from a person that you previously don’t even know exists!

To that special John Doe.. Thank you!

The sun is shining!

I don’t know why I decided to use that title for this post when it’s 2.30 early in the morning.. the sun is not even ready to get out on this side of the globe yet! But yeah.. I guess it’s one good metaphor to use to describe how I’m feeling now. I have started doing some of the things that I used to enjoy as I wrote before in this post and I feel great. I know it sounds cliché but I feel that I’ve found my true self again.

In the last couple of months, I have read 4 books with another one is underway, I’ve been to beaches and waterfall, had good times and taken a number of beautiful pictures as well as beginning to follow the my favourite football team again (although they let me down on a number of occasions!). The late Johan of Joe Blog used to say (quote) ‘Embrace life as if you’re going to die tomorrow and do what you enjoy most as much as you can’. I finally took up his advice and I’m glad that I did. Although my busy life especially with the ever-demanding job frequently left me all knackered by the end of the day, I can honestly say that I am content with my life right now... I truly am. I feel more relax and much happier, no more tears and the ‘down’ cycle is getting fewer and fewer, if any.

Oh, I have been given a clean bill of health a couple of weeks ago after a number of investigations done showed no abnormal results. So, it means that the reason for my passing out last month remains unknown. I’m fine with that…as long as it doesn’t occur again!

End of an era (and the beginning of a new one)

So, I turned 48 a few days ago. Instead of having the day off to celebrate, it was a busy day instead starting with a virtual viva session f...
